Towers Manufacturing Facility at Vadodara

Process
Fabrication:
Process of fabrication comprises of cutting, stamping, straightening, punching, notching, bending & heel grinding. Then it is ready for galvanizing.
Galvanizing:
- Degreasing of tower parts with Sodium Hydroxide solution.
- Pickling to clean up the surface with HCL Solution.
- Rinsing twice with fresh water to remove the acid content.
- Fluxing with synth flux to prepare surface for galvanizing
- Drying on hot plate.
- Dipping in Zinc bath with 99.95% pure zinc at 4500C to 4650C temperature.
- Quenching in water.
- Dichromating.
- The Galvanizing thickness is normally 460 gms per sq.meter for members below 5 mm thickness and 610 gms per sq.metre for members above 5 mm thickness.
With this, the finished tower parts get ready for dispatch to sites.
Testing of Towers:
Transmission Tower is the only structure in structural industry, which is tested as per actual ultimate loading carried out on test beds as per IS:802 Part-III (latest edition) We have designed and type tested 39 towers for different applications in 66 kV to 400 kV networks which are in service in different parts of the country.
Design of Foundation
Design of foundation is an allied area to tower design. Designing of Tower Foundation is also a very important aspect in Total Turnkey Projects. With our most competitive and economical designs, we are able to win the contracts against stiff market competition. We have designed R.C.C. and P.C.C. type foundations depending on the soil conditions. We have also designed foundations for special applications like River Crossing Towers.
Supply chain management (SCM)
EMCO has developed a very wide vendor base for sourcing raw material for Tower Fabrication, Conductors, Insulators, earth wires and hardware for Transmission Line of all ratings. Consistent quality and timely execution are given maximum importance.

We also have rich experience and expertise of having carried out construction of 66kV to 765 kV Transmission Lines in all types of terrains.
